Home » Internet Safety

Franklin City Public Schools is dedicated to providing a safe and enriching online experience for students.

The Internet is, in many ways, a new frontier, offering unprecedented access to information and the ability to connect and collaborate with people around the globe at any moment.  This is both exciting and dangerous.

Online predators
, phishing scams, viruses, identity theft, and cyberbullying all make this mission of safety more and more challenging by the day.  Social networks that allow sharing of photographs and sensitive personal information are now playing a significant role in shaping our children's digital footprints, the effects of which we may not see for years to come.

With this in mind, it is imperative that all community stakeholders be "in the know" with regard to the online threats our children face.  Students must be taught how to be responsible digital citizens, navigating the Web with knowledge of these threats and strategies for defending themselves against them.

Below you will find links to recommended Internet safety resources that will assist in this effort.
